Mugshot Bristol is less likely to be able to cater to large groups with our Maximum table size of 8 (5 on Fridays and Saturdays) however we will still take enquiries and try to accomodate whenever possible.
At Mugshot, we welcome families and are pleased to offer high chairs as well as a few tables with space to accommodate a pram or buggy. To ensure you are seated at the most suitable table, please let us know your needs in advance.
Children are welcome to dine with us, and we offer kid-friendly options such as a minute steak or a Margherita pizza. While we are happy for children to enjoy the hot stone experience, it is crucial that they do so under the strict supervision of an adult. It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to ensure that children do not touch the hot stones and remain seated at all times to prevent accidents. For their safety and the safety of our staff, we kindly ask that children do not run around the restaurant.
Your cooperation is greatly appreciated in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all our guests.
All of our Irish steaks are certified Halal. However, we also offer non-Halal options, so there is a possibility of cross-contamination. Please keep this in mind when making your reservation, and be sure to mention it in your booking comments or inform a member of our staff.
The charge you may have received is a no-show fee. As mentioned during the booking process, card details are required to secure your reservation, and a £20 per-person fee applies if you cancel within 24 hours of your booking or do not show up. We allow a 15-minute grace period on Fridays and Saturdays for no-shows, after which the reservation is cancelled, and the fee is applied.
If you believe this charge was made in error, please let us know, and we will be happy to review your case.
We’re famous for our hot stone dining because it combines exceptional quality meat with a memorable and engaging experience.
Our staff is fully trained to guide you through the process, ensuring that you feel comfortable and enjoy every moment. Before your meal reaches your table, we sear the meat on our grill, bringing it up to temperature and cooking it to a perfect rare steak. All the hard work is done for you— all you need to do is finish it off to your preferred level of doneness.
If you’d prefer not to handle the cooking yourself, just let us know, and we’ll take care of it for you!
Wagyu is available at Mugshot on a limited basis. To stay informed about our next offering, we encourage you to sign up for our mailing list by completing the form at the bottom of our website.

Please note that reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. Once you select your preferred cut, we will require a deposit of half the payment to secure your booking, which will be deducted from your final bill.
While we do not offer complimentary birthday items, we are pleased to assist with special requests. Through our booking team, you can arrange for personalised touches such as banners, balloons, flowers, cakes, and more. Please let us know your preferences in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Mugshot Restaurant is part of Round the Clock & Co, a family-run, Bristol-based hospitality group. As a small independent business, we operate several venues on St. Nicholas Street, including Asian BBQ Bristol, The Library, and The Archive. With exciting new ventures like Mary Le Port Hotel and a Mugshot in Cardiff on the horizon, we’re still learning and have a small team steering the ship. We value your feedback, so if you encounter anything we can improve upon, please let us know!

At Mugshot, we aim to maintain a smart and comfortable atmosphere. While we don’t enforce a strict dress code, we do ask that guests avoid wearing costumes or bringing hen/stag party apparel into the restaurant.
Yes, you do need to book a table at The Library separately, even if you have a reservation at Mugshot. The Library is a different venue with its own booking system. To reserve a table, please visit The Library’s website. While we try to give priority to Mugshot diners, this does not guarantee a table at The Library.
